At our inaugural event, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, we hosted a special conversation at Soho House on the effects of nature on our wellbeing.

Janera Soerel, our Founder, facilitated the conversation between Dr. Stephanie Wear, Senior Scientist at The Nature Conservancy with Rachel Ash and Dr. Anthony Lyon from the leading integrative Ash Center for Comprehensive Medicine. 

We learned that even though modern medicine has helped us live longer than we did in the middle ages, it is not the right way to deal with the rise of chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer, and hypertension. These are caused by inflammation, of which stress is a major contributor. City life makes it difficult for our bodies to detox fast enough for us the feel truly connected and healthy. 

Apparently this generation is the first one to have a lower life expectancy that the previous one. This is preventable, people! Moving regularly, taking time to decompress, getting into nature, being in community, and feeling appreciation, create measurable cognitive improvements, and are the keys to staying healthy, productive, and happy.
