  • To connect to other curious and creative humans, and make new friends.
  • To escape your crammed apartment, and spend time in a beautiful spacious home.

Our Tribe

We are a community of entrepreneurs, executives, wellness practitioners, and creatives who love to travel and make meaningful connections.

We balance our busy city lives with regular stays at SecondHouse to relax and recharge. We love cooking together, drinking local wines, and having interesting conversations.

We use the house as our own, go back-forth to the city, leave our stuff, co-work, go for walks, read, and do nothing.

We offer trial stays to prospective members (two night minimum).

Annual Membership Fees

Membership is $450 per year.

After becoming a members, there are four different levels in which you can participate, depending on how much you think you'll use the house:

Earth: $1,000, which includes 1,000 points, payable in four quarterly installments of $250

Water: $2,700, which includes 3,000 points, payable in four quarterly installments of $675

Fire:  $4,000, which includes 5,000 points, payable in four quarterly installments of $1,000

Sky: Unlimited points. Price available upon request

Membership perks include complimentary access to our LivingRooms and first dibs and discounts to partner offerings, and other events and workshops.

The Point System

The point system was designed to give members maximum flexibility. Points per room range from 70 for a week night in winter to 250 for a weekend night in summer. So the number of nights per membership depends on when you stay.

Points are

  • redeemed for nights, per room, double occupancy (so you can bring a friend)
  • valid for one year from the date of purchase

Manifesto

If you want to go fast, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

— African Proverb

We are curious and aware humans who are committed to our own wellbeing, and that of the planet.

We live with intention, are optimistic, energetic, kind, passionate, generous, and welcoming.

We seek to live a full, purposeful, life.

We take risks, fall down, and get back up again.

We value what we have in common, and respect each others differences.

We elicit the best in ourselves, and each other.

We believe in the possibility of a better world where we treat the earth and all humans with dignity.

Availability

We are year round. We alternate between kid-free and kid-friendly weeks. People without kids are welcome anytime, and holidays are open to all.

Communal Dinners

Our weekly farm-to-table dinners take place on Saturday. Our commitment is to buy local and source from farms, fishermen, and vineyards in the region.

Dinners are coordinated by the host, and everyone participates in preparing and clearing up. They are priced at cost, and BYOB.

The Host

The host makes sure everyone is well taken care of, and coordinates the communal meals in which members participate. The host is also connected to the local area and in the know about great food suppliers, and all the fun things to do.

The host is usually our founder, but increasingly members are taking the lead. Member Hosts enjoy bringing people together and organizing the meal. When a member is the host, her/his points for that specific stay will not be deducted.

Capacity

The North Fork house sleeps maximum ten people at one time, but we prefer being with eight.

There are five bedrooms. Each sleeps two adults and maybe one small child (BYO kid's bed). Older children need their own bedroom.

Membership Application Process

After you complete the application form, someone will be in touch for a friendly chat to learn more about you and share more about us. For details check out our Membership Page

Guests

Members can always bring a friend to share their room. The points are per night, per room, double occupancy.

Trial Stay

Not a member yet? We also offer a trial stay, with a two-night minimum, except holidays when we ask you to stay three days. Get in touch to learn more.

Food

Food is not included. When we have our communal dinners, everyone pitches in and we share the costs.

Cancellation Policy

We believe in first come, first served. However if you cancel with less than two week's notice, your points will be considered redeemed.

Dog Policy

We allow dogs, but only one per weekend. Before bringing your dog, please connect with the others staying in the house at the same time to make sure nobody is allergic.

You will need to keep your dog with you, and not leave him/her unattended at the house (to avoid a crying dog).

And most importantly, ALWAYS clean up after your dog. We do not appreciate stepping in dog poop, nor cleaning up after them.

Security Deposit

We ask members for a $250 refundable security deposit, which we will use in case you, or your kid/dog breaks something, or makes a mess that needs to be professionally cleaned.
